Well here we go again

When I started this blog it was to prepare my self for turning 50. That was a year ago so now I am 50. Life got a little hectic last year and I was unable to keep up the blog so 50 came and went with little or no time to care.

My daughter moved to Germany with her husband, who is in the Army, and my oldest 2 grandchildren. Since then, my son-in-law has been assigned to Afganastan for the next 12 months, So now my daughter is stuck in Germany alone with two kids for the next 12 months.
My son who is in the Airforce will be finishing up his training for his new job and will we won't know his orders for a couple of more weeks. He just passed his 11 year anniversary with the Airfoce and has decided to change career fields. If he get an assignment overseas he will have to go unaccompanied. Because my daughter-in-law is just finishing her teaching degree and will have to stay in the states to be able to do her student teaching and get her degree.

Last December we rushed my husband to the hospital because the doctor said he was in congestive heart failure. after a week in the intensive care unit we found out he was in kidney failure not congestive heart failure caused by Anca glomerulonephritis. Which is an autoimmune disorder. His immune system stopped recognizing his kidney as a vital organ and began attacking it as if it were a cancer. He is now off dialysis, the cancer treatments have stopped and he is considered in remission. He now takes anti- rejection drugs to prevent his immune system from rejecting his own kidney. The drugs he had to take have been harsh. He now has to take blood pressure medicine as well as insulin as the other medication he takes causes his pancreas to not function. We are happy he is still with us and that he is in remission. We will take what we can get.

Well that brings most of my life up to date and as you can see there was no time to whine/fear/accept/look forward to turning 50. Other than being tired and having more joint
pain. 50 doesn't feel any different than any other year.
